Episode 11: George Niblock ‘Once a Waster always a Waster’

On episode 11 of the Rubbish Talk podcast, we have a great chat with George Niblock. A man with over 50 years experience in the Waste industry, George started his journey as an Apprentice Sanitary Inspector, working his way to Director of Environmental Health and then running his own consultancy Niblock Environmental Ltd for 14 years. George was Chair of CIWM SCC during their Centenary year and is now a Life Member and Fellow of CIWM, he was also Chartered EHO, Chartered Waste Manager and Chartered Environmentalist – Once a waster always a waster!

George is still very much involved in the sector despite being ‘retired’. He is Chairperson of Inverurie Community Energy Society Ltd a not for profit Bencom, planning to bring district heating to Inverurie and surrounding area utilising the residual waste heat from a proposed EfW, with ambitions to bring social, economic and environmental benefits to the community.

George shares his experience in the industry, how things have changed since he first joined, what he thinks we could all be doing better. We have a lot more content coming from George in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.
